Scope note
Square sheets or cards with perforations in the corners through which bundles of warp threads are passed and manipulated to weave narrow, decorative bands of wool, linen, silk, or other types of thread. These tablets were first used in Europe during the early Celtic Iron Age, with early examples found in present-day Austria, Germany, and France.
