Scope note
Supports for rushlights, which must be held at an angle for proper burning. Usually consisting of upright pincers of wrought iron, jaws held closed by spring action or a curved arm counter-weighted by a metal ball, decorative element, or candle socket. The base may be an iron tripod or wooden block, often decoratively turned.
