Kumeyaay
- Scope note
- Refers to the culture of the Kumeyaay (also known by their Spanish name, Diegueño), a group of Yuman-speaking Native Americans who historically inhabit large areas extending on both sides of what is now the United States-Mexican border in California and Baja California. They were named after the mission of San Diego; the Kumeyaay were one of the major groups of so-called Mission Indians.
