Scope note
In Indian architecture, the recess between major moldings. Examples are often found between kalaśa and kapōtapālī in pīṭha; also, may be inserted between two courses of kapōtapālī in varaṇḍikā/prahāra below the śikhara. May be decorated with the kuñjarākṣa pattern.
