- Mills that employ cylinders or are in the shape of a cylinder. Examples include cylindrical containers built to varying length-to-diameter ratios and are partially filled with flint stones, iron or steel balls, or other grinding bodies that tumble under the influence of gravity by revolving the container. Other examples include devices that grind grain or other materials by means of two counter-rotating roughened cylinders turning at different speeds.
