Scope note
Platforms with wheels that hold cameras, and in the case of motion picture cameras, also often the camera operator. These may be used to film moving shots or moving or stationary subjects. Dollies can be used with or without dolly tracks to act as guides for movement. For still cameras these may facilitate moving large format cameras within a studio environment.
