draw boats
- Scope note
- Inland vessels used in the Netherlands from the seventeenth century to the nineteenth century to transport passengers on the waterways. The barge could be drawn by a horse, but it was also an option to sail. The boat was generally a stretched vessel about fifteen meters long with a falling prow, a tent, and later a wooden structure with windows that gave the passengers shelter.
