- In postclassic central Mexico, conical headdresses commonly integrated into the Cuextecatl (Huastec) warrior costume. These were worn by the deity Quetzalcoatl. In colonial sources, it is described by the conquistadors as a miter. This term is also occasionally applied in colonial sources to the xiuhuitzolli, or turquoise diadem.
