A type of transfer paper that has been printed with a design in such a way that the design can be transferred to another surface. Moisture is usually applied to the paper and then it is placed face down on the second surface; the design, or 'decal,' attaches itself to the second surface and the backing is stripped away. Mass-produced ceramic wares are commonly decorated with transfers of this kind.
