law sheep
- Scope note
- Smooth-grained natural- or cream-colored sheepskin leather, vegetable-tanned, usually with bark, commonly used in the 19th and early 20th centuries in binding law books, especially in England, as a less expensive alternative to "law calf." It has been superceded in that use by "law buckram."
