Scope note
In Indian architecture, a temple theatre for dance or music, used for staging Koothu, Nangiar koothu and Koodiyattam, which are ancient ritualistic art forms. The structures are said to be constructed according to the guidelines given in the Nātyasāstra of Bharata Muni; hall for theatre performances (kūdiyāṭṭam).
