Scope note
Devices that consist of a number of points arranged to revolve about a plane which also rotates in the same direction but a different speed. These are rotated by a crank, and by varying the position of the centers around which the points and plane revolve, and corresponding speeds of rotation, figures such as circles, ovoids, triangles and nephroid forms can be described. The points can be fixed with markers or cutting tools.
