Scope note
Stands for holding turbans. Prime examples were created in the Ottoman Empire, where court officials and members of the elite classes wore elaborately shaped turbans that indicated rank and position, wound accordiing to precise clothing regulations. The turbans were placed on turban stands between wearings.
