Scope note
Nahua tlahuiztli (insignia) in the form of large umbrella-shaped feathered structures worn on a back-frame. These were prestigious gifts presented to nobles made in a variety of colors, and was frequently topped with an effigy head of the deity Xolotl; hence its name, "Xolotl-head." This insignia also represents the altepetl of Tepeticpac, Tlaxcala.
