Scope note
Gaming tables with tops marked as boards for playing backgammon. They may be similar to French "tric-trac tables," because the games are similar. Tric-trac was popular in France and elsewhere from 16th through 19th centuries. Both games could be played on either table. Backgammon tables tend to be of more recent origin.
