Carver chairs
- Scope note
- 17th-century American turned great chairs styled after one that belonged to John Carver, Governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony. Such chairs have boldly turned posts and decorative spindles, but unlike Brewster chairs they have spindles only in the back and below the arms, and not below the seat.
