- Historicist architectural and furniture style developed in the third and fourth quarters of the 19th century. Reverts to the formal language of Louis XIV architecture from the late 17th and first quarter of the 18th century. Common decorative figures include, among others, acanthus leaves, laurel leaves and lion heads, all inspired by Greco-Roman antiquity.
