Scope note
Triclinic borosilicate mineral group comprised of Axinite-(Fe), Axinite-(Mg), Axinite-(Mn), and Tinzenite. Axinite without a sub-designation is not recognized as an individual mineral species. The group has its name after the generic name axinite first introduced in 1797 by the French mineralogist Rene Just Haüy.
