- Japanese books having a support comprising a long strip of paper with writing on one side, folded in a concertina fashion where each written page faces another written page. A cover may be attached to the front and back of the book; holes may be pierced to allow the book to be laced. Glossy mulberry torinokogami paper is often used. Based on a style of binding known in China during the Tang period.
