Scope note
Artists that create works, such as in cinema, opera, or performance art that fuse aesthetic disciplines into a singular artistic experience. Working collaboratively, each individual draws on distinct fields of knowledge to create what is usually a single work, or activity. Bound by these distinct distinct fields, as in, for example in cinema, where photographers, writers, editors, and musicians work together to create a whole, singular piece. The term 'multidisciplinary artist' is often used to mean artists that work in multiple disciplines, but for artists that create works in many disciplines or that individually create works drawing on multiple fields, use 'interdisciplinary artists.'
