Scope note
Architectural style that developed particularly in Italy in the 1920s and 1930s, that emphasized a scientific and rational approach to design, prioritizing functional structures, geometric forms, and a rejection of ornamentation. It is based on theories that emerged during the Renaissance with Vitruvius, in the Enlightenment, and in Neoclassicism.
