Scope note
Refers to the style and culture of the Lekwungen (lək̓ʷəŋən) people, a Coast Salish subgroup who primarily reside on southeastern Vancouver Island. In the past, the term "Songhees" was used to generally refer to the Lekwungen people, however Lekwungen and lək̓ʷəŋən are preferred, as the Lekwungen are represented by both the Songhees and Esquimalt (Xwsepsum) First Nations.
