The adoption of the practices or aethetics of one social group or society by another, more dominant social group or society, in ways that are exploitative, offensive, and/or disrespectful. These customs or aethetics may include cultural traditions, clothing, and general behavior. The term is most commonly used to refer to the adoption of non-Western aesthetics by people in Western cultures.
