roundhouses (dwellings)
- Scope note
- Circular buildings typical of north-western Europe, particularly the British Isles during the Bronze and Iron Ages. These are most often considered dwellings, and were built from perishable materials. Identification of these is dependent on rings of postholes, where a timber superstructure once stood.
