Scope note
Family of fungi established to classify specific thermophilic (heat-loving) and thermotolerant molds. In 2011, the broadly defined family Trichocomaceae was split into three separate families: Aspergillaceae, Trichocomaceae (redefined), and Thermoascaceae, based on phylogenetic and morphological differences.
