Scope note:

In chemistry, the process or action of converting a material by heating from a solid to a gaseous state without it becoming a liquid. All substances will sublimate if the pressure is low enough. Substances that can sublimate at atmospheric pressure include carbon dioxide, iodine, mercuric sulfide.
