Anotations

Scope note:

Refers to the cultures of the native peoples of Canada. First Nation is one of three groupings of Indigenous people in Canada, the other two being Métis and Inuit. Unlike Métis and Inuit, most First Nations hold reserve lands, and members of a First Nation may live both on and off these reserves. To refer more broadly to refer to all tribes in the Americas, use "Indigenous Peoples of the Americas (culture)." To refer collectively to tribes in North America, use "Native American."
