Describes works created by the inhabitants of the Torres Strait Islands. The most well known works of the Torres Strait are their double-outrigger sailing canoes, which are capable of carrying a dozen or more people. The canoes are ornamented with engravings and paintings. No example has survived of the decorated Torres Strait canoe, except photographs and drawings.
