Scope note:

Refined, dehydroxylated form of the clay mineral kaolinite. Like other pozzolans, it will chemically react with calcium hydroxide at ordinary temperatures to form compounds possessing cementitious properties; and is used as a substitute for cement in some concrete mixtures.
