Containers for the chrism and consecrated oil used in Christian ritual. The term usually refers to vessels, either having one containing unit or, in some designs, having three flasks, for the oil for baptism, confirmation, and anointing of the sick. The term is also used for a small container or opening built into the interior church architecture, where the consecrated oil is stored.
