Scope note:

Printing method in which the image is transferred from a roller, plate, block, or stone to an intermediary, such as a rubber blanket or roller, then onto the paper or other final surface. It is a method used for printing a large number of impressions. If the original image is created by lithographic technique specifically, use "offset lithography."
