Anotations

Scope note:

Refers to a type of decorative glass that was invented in Venice during the 16th century. It is characterized by a surface that appears frosted or resembles cracked ice. It is produced either by plunging a gather of blown glass into a tub of water and then quickly reheating it, or by rolling the hot glass on a metal or clay surface covered with glass fragments that adhere to the gather, and then blowing the form.
