Scope note:

Type of banded wine cup common throughout the Mediterranean in the sixth and seventh centuries BCE. The designation is something of a misnomer as the cups were made in several parts of the Greek world including Sicily and Southern Italy. Nonetheless, they are ultimately dependent on an East Greek model.
