Scope note:

In Christian churches, rooms or separate buildings in which the celebrants, other clergy, and acolytes may dress prior to the mass or other services. The room may also be used for storage of liturgical vestments, sometimes for storage of vessels, and other items, and for meetings. For rooms serving more for the storage of sacred items, use "sacristies," although modern usage of the two terms broadly overlaps.
