Anotations

Scope note:

Mechanized devices, typically comprising overfeeding, heating, cooling, press roller, and folding components, designed to expose dyed fabrics to controlled heat and pressure in order to improve the fabrics' dimensional stability. Utilized on wetted and elongated fabrics, these devices apply steam or hot air to materials to restore their original shape and geometrics by releasing any internal stress introduced to the fabric by the dyeing process. Commonly used as part of the fabrics' post-treatment process, the devices induce a series of physical and chemical changes to relax, realign, and permanently set the fabrics in their desired configurations.
