Style of bookbinding decoration popular in England ca. 1550-ca. 1650, characterized by a design of Islamic inspiration that is usually blocked, with both centerpiece and cornerpiece designs, and having cornerpiece designs that may be combined to form the centerpiece. Formerly called "Lyonese binding."
