Scope note:

Printed periodicals with or without text in which the essential information is conveyed through a collection of photographic images. These may be authored by one or more artists or photographers, or arranged by an editor. Generally the images in a photo zine are meant to be viewed in context, as parts of a larger whole. These often are produced in inexpensive formats, usually with small circulation. For similar singular publications bound as books, use 'photobooks.'
