Scope note
A form of dwelling from the early settlement of the state of São Paulo during the colonial period. These are single-story houses, built using rammed earth techniques and with a rectangular floor plan. The roofs were made of clay tiles or thatched with straw. Spaces around the main house contained facilities such as grinding mills, stables, and watermills.
