Consists of a wooden base with a carved frontlet, usually depicting clan crest figures, animal whiskers protruding from the top, and a train of ermine skins framing the back and sides of the headdress. Sometimes a space is carved in the frontlet to hold feathers, which would be used by chiefs to welcome indivduals during various ceremonies.  ]]></note></mads>
