Scope note:

Evolved gas analysis (EGA) is a technique whereby temperature-resolved, volatile species generated from a sample placed within a microfurnace are analyzed using mass spectrometry. It is the most useful technique to determine the nature and amount of volatile products formed during the thermal degradation of materials.
