Scope note:

Perspective used in certain landscapes in Chinese painting, characterized by having not only one point of view, but including several perspectives, often shifting from near to far vignettes. The philosophy of this perspective scheme is to achieve an "angle of totality," by which the viewer can see all parts of the scene to best advantage.
