Scope note:

Adhesive that is thermoplastic, heated and applied in the molten state and forming a bond on cooling to a solid state. Used in many applications, including among the arts and crafts communities, for which it is usually available in the form of cylindrical sticks that fit into electronic glue guns for application. Distinguished from "heat-seal adhesive" which is already present in a thin layer on the adherends prior to the application of heat and pressure.
