Scope note:

Relatively large areas intended for enjoyment and amusement, distinguished by woods and other features, such as architectural fantasies and riding trails. For smaller areas having a similar purpose but with an enclosing wall and focusing on flowers, shrubs, mazes, fruit trees, pedestrian paths, etc., prefer "pleasure gardens."
